Job summary

A local government authority is seeking a Pest Treatment and Investigation Officer to work in Neighbourhood Protection. Job description

We're looking for a Pest Treatment and Investigation Officer to join our Neighbourhood Protection Service - helping to keep our county clean, safe, and healthy. In this role, you'll be the person people turn to when they need help tackling pest problems. You'll investigate reports, provide practical solutions, deliver pest treatments, and take enforcement action to protect residents, homes, businesses, and public spaces. It's a job where no two days are the same - you'll work with a wide range of teams and community partners, from the Neighbourhood Wardens and Anti-Social Behaviour Officers to Environmental Health and our Empty Homes Team. Your work will have a visible impact: creating cleaner streets, safer neighbourhoods, and an environment everyone can enjoy.

Qualifications

5 GCSEs including English or relevant equivalent qualification (e.g., RSPH Level 2 in Pest Control).

Training

Experience of identifying pest infestations and the underlying cause of them, and of using insecticides and rodenticides to treat infestations.

Other

A full driving licence (you'll need to pass an in-house driving assessment before appointment).
