Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Personnel Competence Assessor for a rotational contract role in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will assess the skills and knowledge of Workover/Snubbing personnel on international units. FT Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Personnel Competence Assessor, working on a rotational Contract for approx. 6-12 months.

This role will support the verification of skills, knowledge and performance of Workover/Snubbing personnel operating on Workover Units internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structured interviews, workplace observations, and on-the-job assessments to ensure personnel meet competency standards and regulatory requirements.

Main duties include:
  • Conduct competency assessments for workover and snubbing personnel through structured interviews and workplace observations.
  • Evaluate individual performance against defined competence standards and operational procedures.
  • Provide objective feedback, document assessment outcomes, and identify areas for further development or training.
  • Ensure assessment processes comply with OPITO standards and company competence frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate assessment records and prepare reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s Competence Assurance system.
  • Work closely with supervisors, trainers, and HSE representatives to uphold operational excellence and safety standards.
Suitable candidates should have the following:
  • Prior supervisory-level experience in Workover or Snubbing Operations.
  • Ability to communicate in French language (proficiency at B2/B1 CEFR level)
  • Strong knowledge of well intervention, workover, and snubbing operational practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct fair, consistent, and structured competence assessments.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • OPITO Assessor accreditation (Desirable – will be provided by client if not held)
