Job summary

remedyrecruitmentgroup is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Tutor for the Sutton area. The role involves delivering tailored tuition to children and young people with SEND, focusing on improving EHCP outcomes and educational engagement.

You will work one-to-one with learners, typically delivering 10–15 hours per week, with DBS and safeguarding obligations. The hourly pay ranges from £25 to £35, with ongoing/long-term opportunities and flexible hours up to 40 per week.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, learner-centred tuition in person.
  • Assess learning needs and create structured intervention plans.
  • Support pupils toward EHCP targets and educational outcomes.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and families.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and engagement.
  • Provide regular updates to parents, carers and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and confidence in learning.
