Job summary

PRO TAX is seeking a Personal Tax Manager in Reading to lead a growing portfolio of personal tax clients, including landlords and HNWI. You will deliver compliant returns and proactive planning advice on inheritance tax and residency while mentoring juniors.

You’ll report to the Tax Director, have autonomy to run your desk, and enjoy hybrid working with a supportive, client-facing role that emphasizes advisory work alongside compliance.

Qualifications

• ATT or CTA qualified (or close to it).
• At least 5 years' experience in a practice tax environment.
• Strong communicator with client interaction and problem-solving.
• Experience with Xero Tax, Digita, or advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and delivering quality compliance work.
• Providing advisory input across inheritance tax, residency issues, and CGT.
• Liaising directly with HMRC on compliance checks and disclosures.
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their development.
• Overseeing the firm's personal tax compliance function.
