Placr Recruitment is seeking an experienced tax professional to lead a personal tax team in the UK. You will deliver tax compliance, provide advisory guidance on inheritance tax, estate planning, and capital gains, and manage ERS/ATED processes while developing staff and ensuring timely delivery.

You will review team work, handle client communications, and coordinate with HMRC and partners on complex queries. Strong knowledge of UK tax law and proficiency with IRIS are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be ATT qualified and ideally CTA qualified with circa 4–5 years working in tax.
• Personal tax and compliance experience is essential.
• Advisory experience is desirable.
• Excellent understanding of up-to-date UK legislation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, HMRC and staff.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency in tax software (ideally IRIS).
• Experience managing and developing a tax team, running training sessions, balancing workloads and deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax, confidently delivering tax compliance and independently handling tax issues.
• Providing expert advisory services on all tax matters including inheritance tax, estate planning and capital gains tax.
• Process P11D forms, employment related securities (ERS), and ATED returns.
• Reviewing compliance work and tax computations of team members.
• Leading a team of tax experts, training and developing trainees and ensuring workloads and timelines are managed.
• Manage your own and team's projects and responsible for your budget.
• Liaising with Senior Managers and partners about client queries and updates.
• Maintaining professional relationships with clients and HMRC.
• Involved in business development and networking with new and current clients.
