Job summary

TC Group is looking for a Personal Tax Manager in the UK to join our ambitious team. The role offers a path to broaden experience and progress within the firm.

You will manage a portfolio of personal tax returns for directors, property owners and high net worth individuals, and act as the main client contact for day-to-day queries, with potential involvement in Trusts and IHT advice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax returns for directors, property owners, high net worth individuals, sole traders and partnerships.
• Be the first point of contact for clients and assist the directors with ad hoc queries.
• Assist with Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax and potentially a portfolio of Trusts.
• Involve knowledge areas such as national insurance, overseas matters and farmers averaging.
• Train and support junior staff with tax guidance and development.

Job description

TC Smith & Goulding are looking to expand and strengthen our team with the addition of another Personal Tax Manager, either on a full time or part time basis. The role will provide the opportunity to widen your experience and progress further in the firm.

Key responsibilities of a Personal Tax Manager will include:

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax returns comprising of company directors, property owners, high net worth individuals, sole traders and partnerships.
• Being first point of contact for our clients and assisting the directors with ad hoc queries.
• Assist with advice in relation to Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax and potentially a portfolio of Trusts.
• Other specific areas of knowledge which would be useful are national insurance, overseas matters and farmers averaging.
• You will be involved in the training of students and provide ad hoc tax advice for the accounts team.

About you

• Ideally you will have formal qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CTA. We are happy to consider candidates who are qualified by experience
• Possesses excellent analytical and review skills
• Is eager to progress and develop, with the willingness to adapt
• Demonstrates a high level of honesty and integrity
• Has the ability and desire to coach and develop junior members of staff
• A self-starter with the motivation to see projects through to completion
• An effective communicator and listener and who and would collaborate well with the rest of our team
