Job description

As a Personal Investing Risk Vice President in the ICB Risk COO team, you will support JPM Personal Investing (JPM PI) business. Assisting and leading in the delivery, structure, governance, and execution of regulatory, business, and cross-risk strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include managing the process for risk input for JPM PI, leading working groups, providing reporting and collating risk leads' responses and reviews as well as driving technical deep dives and process reviews to help drive integration activities to completion. You will work closely with business areas and functional teams aligned to both ICB and the broader firm. You will liaise directly with senior members of the ICB Risk team, reporting to the ICB Risk COO, supporting both local and firmwide requirements.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide business and data analysis to JPM PI initiatives; analysing and documenting key business discussion and requirements, managing timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies, including proper syndication of key decisions.
  • Drive technical deep dives into new products and processes to identify potential key risks.
  • Serve as “air traffic controller” on critical issues and act as key facilitator to ensure necessary decisions are made in a timely manner with proper governance. Leverage appropriate SMEs and initiative owners to resolve challenges.
  • Develop operating models for new or enhanced processes through collaboration with stakeholders, this includes: workflows, business requirements documents. Managing communication of status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Coordinate, Product, Committee, and Working Group Activities: Confirm key risk stripes for JPM PI Product Cabinets (Invest, Brokerage), elevate relevant items and provide risk challenge to JPM PI Working Groups; liaise with GFCC, Compliance, Operational Risk, Technology, and Cyber teams to highlight and elevate key issues and actions; attend JPM PI Operating Forum, JPM PI Control Committee, and update board decks, CEO reports, Risk Committee materials, and CRM slides.
  • Support JPM PI Risk Reporting and Framework: Oversee the JPM PI Risk Performance Report, including enhancements, metric reviews, presentations, data quality controls, and required affirmations; maintain ownership of the JPM PI Risk Management Framework, addressing gaps in risk management, counterparty governance, and coordinating audit activities.
  • Support Risk Controls and Regulatory Attestations actions for risk input or audit findings; manage Volcker attestation and TCFD recertification processes.

  • Significant experience in a second line of defense role (Risk, Control, Compliance, Audit)
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills; with an ability to define a problem statement, define alternatives and draw conclusions with sound judgement and a control mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, results-driven environment; well versed in developing new ideas and driving process improvements.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across functions and levels, work inclusively and collaboratively within teams, and influence outcomes through clear recommendations and constructive accountability.
  • Good working knowledge of and PowerPoint (Pitch-Pro) and MS Excel

  • Skilled in analyzing and deep diving into technical processes and systems, to identify, assess and address risks impacting Risk
  • Prior experience of working in Consumer Banking industry.
