Job Title: Personal Inury Fee Earner (NIHL)
Location: Manchester
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
A specialist industrial disease law firm based in Manchester is seeking an experienced NIHL fee earner to join its dedicated team. The firm focuses exclusively on industrial disease and occupational illness claims and has established a strong reputation for technical expertise and client advocacy in NIHL litigation. This role requires a confident and capable fee earner who can manage a busy caseload from instruction to settlement while maintaining exceptional client care standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full and varied caseload of NIHL claims, including litigated matters and pre-action cases
- Conduct detailed client interviews and evaluate medical and occupational histories to establish claim viability
- Liaise with audiologists, ENTs, and other medical experts to obtain robust evidence and reports
- Draft letters of claim, witness statements, pleadings, schedules, and other litigation documentation
- Negotiate settlements with insurers and defence firms, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients
- Progress claims efficiently in line with procedural requirements, deadlines, and firm standards
- Maintain meticulous records on case management systems and meet performance and compliance targets
- Provide clear, transparent, and supportive communication to clients throughout the claims process
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to ongoing refinement of the department's specialist processes and legal strategies
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable NIHL caseload experience within a claimant practice
- Strong understanding of NIHL litigation, medical evidence, and relevant case law
- Ability to handle volume caseloads without compromising quality
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a specialist team
- High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills
