Job description
Personal Care Assistant with Dementia care experience P/T@ £17.23 PH in Kielder

A family is seeking to expand their team of dedicated and compassionate personal care assistants to support their mum in the Kielder area. Support is required 7 days a week across morning, afternoon, and evening calls to support her in and around her own home and in her local community.

The successful candidates will take a person‑centered approach to care, supporting the client’s independence, well‑being, and choices, while providing essential personal, social, and domestic care. This lady likes to cook and bake as well as go out in the community for short walks, enjoys listening to music from Elvis Presley to status quo, and enjoys watching old TV programmes such as Casualty and doing crosswords and puzzles.

The main duties include supporting as a second personal care assistant for an older lady with significant health and mobility needs: getting in/out of bed, toileting, showering, meal preparation, feeding, administering medication, and socialising while encouraging her to engage in her chosen activities.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid‑19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

Personal specification
  • Calm, patient, fun, honest and reliable, and with a caring nature. Punctual, trustworthy and able to respect confidentiality.
  • Have a happy positive outlook and an outgoing personality.

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).
