Overview

Personal care assistant required for young female. Our client is looking for a personal assistant for their daughter, who requires support accessing the community and recreational activities – inside and outside the home. Our client’s daughter is non-verbal and has learning difficulties, as well as living with Autism, Global Development Delay and Epilepsy.

Important Note

Due to the provision of intimate care, our client has the right to request a carer of a specific sex. This vacancy is restricted for women only.

Responsibilities
  • Support the daughter to access the community and recreational activities, indoors and outdoors.
  • Assist with activities such as water-related activities (e.g., swimming) and outdoor safety, including use of a harness when outside the home.
  • Demonstrate energy, creativity, patience, openness, and alertness in daily interactions.
  • Monitor and respond to challenging behaviour, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Provide support in line with epilepsy management, including responding to vacant seizures with patience.
  • Promote safety and assist with activities in a way that respects the child’s needs and preferences.

Details
  • Role is based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.
  • Hours: 3 hours per week term time, and 6 hours per week during school holidays.
