Job summary

A supportive care organization in Scotland seeks a Personal Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support for an active child. You'll assist with personal care, meal preparation, and accompany him on outings. Ideal candidates will have childcare experience and strong interpersonal skills. This is a casual role, typically working alternate Saturdays at £14.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview

Evan is a bright, active 11-year-old who loves spending time outdoors and exploring new activities. He enjoys trips to the park, trampolining, swimming, clubs, holidays, and simple pleasures like playing in the garden or going out for lunch. Evan is looking for a compassionate, patient, and reliable Personal Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support both at home and out in the community.


Responsibilities


  • Provide personal care, including supervising toilet visits and washing hands.

  • Occasionally assist with administering medication.

  • Help prepare meals or snacks.

  • Accompany Evan on his activities, keep him safe at all times, and help him engage in social experiences that suit his interests and abilities.

  • Assist with driving using your own vehicle (driving is essential; mileage allowance provided).


Qualifications and qualities


  • Experience in childcare, ASN, care home, or nursing settings, or with children; patience, calmness, and sensitivity, especially during challenging moments or meltdowns.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a warm nature, and a proactive approach to care.


Key Details


  • Hours: Casual contract – typically alternate Saturdays, 12:00pm–5:00pm

  • Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour

  • Location: Carluke
