A personal care service provider in Blyth is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support an elderly lady with daily living activities. This role involves meal preparation, personal care, and ensuring timely medication administration. The ideal candidate will enjoy a lively atmosphere, have a good sense of humor, and possess experience in elderly care. The job is flexible, requiring a minimum of one day per week, and the pay is £41 weekly.
We are looking to recruit a worker for a minimum of one day per week (to be agreed), possibly two. This will consist of 4 visits over the course of the day: 1 hour in the morning, 30 minutes at lunchtime, 1 hour at tea time and 30 minutes in the evening. We would also like you to cover any illness or annual leave of the existing worker.
Would you enjoy supporting an elderly lady who is a real character and will be sure to keep you on your toes? She has her own mind, is young at heart, likes to shock and have a wicked sense of humour, enjoys a practical joke at others’ expense, not hers. So, she could be described as mischievous!
This private, down-to-earth lady has at times mobility issues due to spondylosis and pain. Personal care is very much part of this role for this lady who takes pride in her appearance and will include showering, for the reasons mentioned and due to episodes of incontinence.
With a passion for chocolate and a good cup of tea you will need to be able to make this woman a good brew and prepare her meals. You will be responsible for ensuring that she has her medication in a timely manner. Old time music brings her pleasure as does singing, but if you are not in tune you will be told! Shopping for magazines is a favourite pastime as well as ensuring the birds are fed and the garden watered, probably by you!
Described by her family as a loving, accepting person who is a joy to be around, who wouldn’t love this job?
