Overview

Personal Care Assistant for a 12 year old boy @ £15ph - up to 3hrs a week in Norwich NR5. Job Description: Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Please refer to details when submitting your application and advise of days/hours you are available.

Job Purpose

Provide support and companionship for a 12-year-old boy.

Companionship: Stay at the family home when supervision is required.

Going out in the local community: Trips to the local swimming pool, trampoline park, and playground.

Personal care: Change of nappies when required.

The young boy likes shapes, numbers, his iPad and swimming; he can be unpredictable and experiences meltdowns, so patience and quick-wittedness are key. He does not like loud noises, animals or crowded places. 2:1 support will be provided, so you will be working alongside another personal assistant when out in the community.

• Full UK Driving licence

• Capable of performing tasks that require physical exertion, as he does like to take flight when outside.
• Ability and willingness to swim – As he is not safe on his own.

Summary Terms and Conditions

• The rate of pay for this position is £15ph employed basis.
• Hours: 2-3 hours over weekends. Exact times and day will be discussed at interview stage.
• The annual holiday entitlement is equivalent to the work normally expected during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
• If required; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
• The post is subject to: A satisfactory enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer).
• Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
• Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
• Access to free FLICK training for employed workers.
