Key Responsibilities
  • Be involved in outdoor activities such as walking, climbing, and going to parks.
  • Go swimming.
  • Not engage in shopping or visit busy places.
  • Exhibit a calm nature and adapt to the child’s behaviours when engaging in activities that don’t meet his interests.
Hours Breakdown
  • 5 hours per week as a block or split, preferably on a weekend.
  • Increasing to 10 hours per week, with more flexibility during school holidays.
  • 5.6 weeks holiday pro‑rata per year.
  • Expense paid by employer with prior approval/agreement.
Services Provided
  • Meal Preparation.
  • Personal Care.
  • Social + Leisure activities.
  • Support to remain independent.
Training
  • Safeguarding Adults/Children.
Transportation
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Own personal car.
Medical
  • Safe Administration of Medication.
  • PEG Feeding.

A full enhanced disclosure and barring certificate will be required before employment can commence. Full cost to be met by employer. Full training will be provided where appropriate such as in medication administration, safeguarding and moving & handling (where applicable). The child has diabetes that is currently monitored via finger pricks and injections (using a pen rather than syringe). Full training will be provided for this, but it is essential that the successful support worker is confident in managing this once training has been provided.
