Job summary

Job description

To work with our 5 year old son who has pre-verbal Autism and learning disabilities. Our son needs assistance and close supervision to access activities in the community and to access transport. Our son needs help with personal care, by helping him with his toileting and dressing needs, and assistance with feeding. We require a person who can provide this level of assistance that our son requires under our direction. The personal assistant must be reliable, punctual, honest, caring and kind. The person we will employ will have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work including total respect for our privacy. Our son's personal assistant must supervise him at all times, and always be aware of his vulnerability and his need to be kept safe. He is a very active little boy so we would require somebody who can match his energy.

Support Tasks

• Accompany our son to activities in the community (i.e. social, educational etc.) Encourage him to engage with activities and to develop his independence.
• Assistance with toileting/personal cares.
• Accompanying the family on outings to assist with our son's care requirements.
• Supervise our son within his home environment.
