A community support organization is looking for a caregiver to support a child with complex needs. The role involves personal care, medication administration, and promoting social activities. Candidates should be empathic, reliable, and have a valid UK driving licence. Training in first aid and handling will be provided. Fixed working hours in the mornings during term time, with flexible hours in school holidays.
Only candidates over the legal age should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication. The individual's needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects and/or hazards that may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times. Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered). Transport Requirement: Full driving licence is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer's vehicle (employer to check age requirement with car insurance provider).
To support a child who is diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and prematurity global developmental delay. He has a visual impairment, so is severely sight impaired and diagnosed with focal epilepsy, but hasn't had an episode for over 4 years. He is affected throughout the day and requires use of a wheelchair. His communication is delayed and needs to be given processing time. Applicant must have a full UK driving licence with no accidents, claims or convictions.
Hours per week: 5hrs per week fixed in the mornings during term time with an additional 4 per week during school holidays, that are flexible.
