Job summary

Dundee Carers Centre is looking for two personal assistants to support a lady living with Huntington’s Disease in her home in Friockheim. The roles are available as a 14-hour or 21-hour contract with set shift patterns to help maintain her independence and well-being.

Responsibilities include personal care, meal preparation, and assisting with various daily activities. Applicants may receive training for using a hoist and should be comfortable working in a split shift pattern. Driving is beneficial but not required.

• Ability to work in split shifts.
• Willingness to join the PVG scheme.

Job description

A lady living with Huntington’s Disease is looking for two personal assistants to join her established team. She lives independently in her own home within the village of Froickheim, Angus. She is looking a new team members to help her live her best life at home.

There are two positions available a 14 hour and 21-hour contract. These positions fit into an established two-week shift pattern:

• 14 hour contract
  Week 1 Working Saturday and Sunday
  Week 2 Working Thursday and Friday
• 21 hour contract
  Week 1 Working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  Week 2 Working Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday

The working day is a split shifts pattern: –

7am to 9 am, 12 to 1 pm and 3pm to 7 pm

The morning and late afternoon shift will be two team members to aid movement to and from bed. A hoist is used, and training can be given if required.

Other duties include personal care, meal preparation, light housework and social activities.

Further hours for holiday cover would also be offered.

For the right applicant consideration may be given to offering more contracted hours.

Applicants would be required to join the PVG scheme.

Froickheim is on a local transport route, but ability to drive would be beneficial due to the shift pattern.
