A community support organization is seeking a kind and active individual to assist a young boy with autism in accessing various community activities. The role involves accompanying him to skate parks, swimming, and other sports during afternoons, evenings, or weekends. A driving license and car are essential for this position. The ideal candidate should be patient and enjoy engaging in fun activities.
I am a 11-year-old boy that has just started secondary school. I’re very active and have lots of energy. I love to spend most of my time at the skate park, scooting. I’m thinking about starting some different sports along with my scooting and possibly joining some clubs. I love music and know lots of different bands. I’ve got a good sense of humour and like to joke around. I have autism with a demand avoidant profile. I can become overwhelmed and find it hard to navigate some situations. Sometimes I might be impulsive and struggle to understand the world around me.
I need someone to support me to access the community. I would love for someone to take me to different skateparks, swimming, rugby, gym, youth clubs. I attend school so this would need to be afternoon/evenings or at the weekend. In the school holidays I can be more flexible.
