A local authority seeks a Personal Assistant to support a 7-year-old boy with autism for 8 hours a week. Responsibilities include fostering independence, providing companionship, and ensuring safety in various activities. The successful candidate must be caring, patient, and have a full driving licence. Training will be provided, and a DBS check will be required.
Little boy aged 7 from Llandovery requires a mentor/Personal Assistant for socialisation only for 8 hours per week.
This lively little boy has a diagnosis of Autism with PDA profile, ADHD, and Dystonia. He also has a learning impairment but is in mainstream school. He is very vulnerable and will require constant supervision, specifically around roads, moving vehicles, water, and hazards.
He loves being out and about at play parks, the beach, and generally outdoors. He also enjoys playing his Playstation.
The successful PA will be expected to be a mentor to this little boy, supporting him with learning living skills, confidence, social skills and independence.
Working in the employer's home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check / criminal record check will be required for this post and completed upon acceptance of the job offer.
