Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service in Wales is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a gentleman with Multiple Sclerosis and severe vision impairment. The role covers daily and nightly routines, with on-call overnight shifts and occasional blanket leave coverage for other PAs.

Training on MS is provided; you will help with community activities, appointments, and personal care in a wheelchair-accessible setting. A friendly, outgoing approach is valued.

Qualifications

• Training on MS will be given.
• Support the gentleman with accessing the local community.
• Accompany and support with medical appointments.

Job description

40 hours at £14.00 per hour and 4 overnights at £110.80 per night per week for the contract but currently 4 shifts over a 2 week period. Plus any annual leave cover for the other PA's.

A gentleman who has Multiple Sclerosis and “severe” vision is seeking a Personal Assistants to provide support for all aspects of his daily/night routine. Advice can be given to the new Personal Assistant by vision impairment officer regards how this impacts the gentleman.

Are you outgoing and friendly and passionate about your work, if so you could be the ideal caring Personal Assistants that is required to support a quiet, gentle natured gentleman. Training on MS will be given. Support the gentleman with accessing the local community. This gentleman likes to listen to music or just sit quietly with the right person. To encourage the gentleman to develop friendships, activities and Interests and assist with Sudoku.. Accompany and support with medical appointments. Gentleman has a wheelchair accessible vehicle with motorised pulley.
