A personal assistance service in Wales is looking for a caring and flexible Personal Assistant to support a gentleman with daily routines and community access. Responsibilities include aiding with personal care, encouraging independence, and providing companionship in a supportive home environment. The position requires patience, good communication skills, and flexibility in working hours. Training will be provided as needed.
Hours: 56 overnights respite per year + 448 hours wraparound. A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a gentleman to manage his daily routine and support his access to the community. Respite care is provided in the PA’s own home as and when required. This gentleman has a learning impairment and requires patience and care. He also has serious allergies and carries an Epi Pen; further training may be required dependent on the experience and qualifications of the PA. He has seizures and additional health issues. He enjoys walking, crafts, theatre and photography, being out and about, comedy and an expert on soap operas. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the family to manage their support independently. Training will be provided as required and where available.
Support and maintain daily routines in the home. Support and encourage activities of interest. The preparation of meals may be required. Aid with intimate personal care when required. To support an independent lifestyle both at home and in the community.
Working in the employer’s home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of the job offer.
