Job description
Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be a personal assistant to a happy bubbly non-verbal child, who loves being outdoors, in spaces where there are no other people, such as a park, beach or field and he enjoys going on adventures. He enjoys playing with small figures, watching his iPad and looking at books when he is not absorbed in nature.

Responsibilities

A large percentage of his communication is through his body language, stims and vocalisations. He thrives on routine and predictability and can find it hard when things don’t go according to his plan, hence why his mother is never too far away. The largest aim for having a personal assistant is to help develop confidence in and around social settings which currently can be challenging.

As part of your role assistance with personal hygiene will be required as he is doubly incontinent, and wears pull ups/pads at all times, he tries to be independent as far as possible but requires full support when it comes to personal care.

Oliver can run and walk well, though requires to use a wheelchair/buggy as he struggles if he is walking any distances and requires constant supervision to ensure his safety at all times, measures in place already to support PA.

If you are kind, caring, empathetic, compassionate, considerate, patient, with good interpersonal skills, and likes making a positive difference, you might be the perfect fit for this role.
