Overview

Personal Assistant required to support male age 20 who lives in the Chester-le-Street area.

Hours and wage

Term time - 15 hours usually Thursdays & Fridays after 9:00 to 4:30pm at present.

Non term time - 20 hours. This could be anytime Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 4:30pm or evenings as a guide. These hours are shared with another worker and can vary and open for discussion (e.g. 7.5hrs each or 10hrs each per week depending on the term time).

September onwards these hours and days may be subject to change as we are waiting on the new college rota to be issued, so the required two days may not be as above but will still be over two days if the days have changed.

Wages are £13 per hour.

Duties

Take him on days out, maybe have a kick about with a football, encourage everyday life skills, interaction using bus pass and shops as well as getting him out and about in the community.

Additional Requirements/Information

He is a good person at heart but patience is required, he can be demanding, finds it hard to understand at times. Best suited for a person who has experience in these areas of disabilities. The position is not essential to require a car or a driver, but it would be preferred. This is due to encouragement on public transport, but this would be preferred to be mixed in with someone who does drive. If required, the person may need to provide some of the care in their own home but is also open to discussion. Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
