Job description

Reporting to: Direct Payment Employer

Location: Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Hours of work: Holiday cover 6 weeks per year.

Rate of pay: £13.80 per hour

Hello, I'm Louise. I live with my wife and our cat, Roy Rodgers, so a love for cats is essential! We’re looking for a kind-hearted, open-minded Personal Assistant who understand neurodivergence and is eager to learn and adapt.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys good conversation, and shares a few of my interests. My day-to-day needs vary, and support can range from practical assistance to simply sharing a cuppa and a chat.

Responsibilities
  • Physical Assistance & General Support – Help with daily tasks, errands, and any required physical support.
  • Meal Preparation & Housekeeping – Assist with cooking, cleaning, and general household upkeep.
  • Shared Interests and Connection – I enjoy knitting, reading, watching TV, tabletop role-playing games (especially Dungeons & Dragons), music (all kinds!), and keyboards. Ideally, you share some of these interests or are open to learning about them.
Qualities We Value
  • Cat Lover – Roy Rodgers is family, so you must enjoy spending time with cats.
  • Open Mind toward Neurodivergence and LGBTQ+ – A willingness to understand neurodiversity and support an LGBTQ+ friendly household.
  • Curiosity and Flexibility – No one has all the answers, so a desire to grow and learn is important.

If you're looking to work in a supportive, welcoming environment and bring your kindness and curiosity with you, please reach out. Let’s see if we’re a good fit for each other.

This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
