Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife is seeking two Personal Assistants for a young boy with autism in Kirkcaldy. You will help him get out of the house, join outdoor activities, and engage in varied pastimes. Initial time will be spent at home to build trust, with some personal care tasks possible.

A patient, kind and flexible approach is essential, and the role may suit someone observant and physically fit due to potentially busy environments. A PVG check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check required.
• Caring attitude and reliable with flexible approach.
• Patience and understanding when supporting child with autism.

Responsibilities

• Support client to leave the home and enjoy activities outside of school.
• Assist with activities such as walks, beach visits, swimming, or messy play at home.
• Build rapport with the client and maintain a supportive routine.
• Some personal care tasks may be required.
• Driver status is preferred; car may be available if needed.
