Personal Assistant for young person P/T @ £16.47/hr in Weston-super-mare - FTE - £32.1k

PA needed for young man with Functional Neurological disorder. This young man uses both a powered and manual wheelchair due to weakness in all limbs. This young person has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which was changed to a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. This person has lost feeling from his waist down which has not fully returned.

Tasks needed

  • Encourage and support with personal care as needed
  • Support with irrigation machine if needed
  • Support with dressing/undressing as needed
  • Support to make connections with new friends
  • Ensuring there is access to food and drink
  • Encouragement to have a healthy diet
  • Support with shopping
  • Support with domestic tasks and complete tasks if needed
  • Support with cooking safely
  • Provide car transport to enable access to the community (this person enjoys gaming, shopping for clothes, listening to music, watching TV and going to the cinema)
  • Monitor mental and physical health
  • Ensure medication is taken correctly during times he has had a seizure
  • Pick up medication from pharmacy
  • Provide support as required with transfer and mobility
  • Encourage young person to do physio exercises to build strength and stamina
  • Support with his short term memory

Availability Flexible, can be discussed

Hourly rate £16.47 for self-employed PA's

Hours required 15 hours per week
