Overview

Personal Assistant for a young boy in North Walsham. 4 hours fortnightly on Saturdays. Rate: £16 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a 2:1 team
  • Maintaining hygiene and personal care – ensure he washes hands before and after meals, nappy changing and clothing changes when required
  • PEG feeding (training provided if required) – food and fluid support and offering
  • Responsible for his safety and well-being at all times
  • Supporting with behaviours – follow the lead of the current PA and use safe escorting techniques when required
  • Maintaining his environment – tidy up
Qualifications
  • Essential requirements: Experience with nonverbal children; high levels of patience and understanding; First aid trained; Reliable; Trustworthy; Can work Saturday evenings (fortnightly); Can work as part of a team
  • Desirable requirements: STEPS trained; PEG trained
Summary terms and conditions
  • Rate of pay: £16 per hour
  • Hours and times of work: 4 hours fortnightly on a Saturday evening 6pm-10pm
  • Other duties will be discussed as appropriate; everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance
  • Annual holiday entitlement: equivalent to 5.6 weeks of work
  • Access to free training for employed workers
  • If required: manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals and/or food handling training
  • DBS check (cost covered by the employer) and satisfactory references from two referees (one must be current or last employer)
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
