Job summary

Enable in Cumnock is seeking a Personal Assistant to support Maureen, promoting independence and community participation. You will provide person-centred care, assist with daily tasks, and accompany her to activities. Previous care experience is not required as training will be provided.

The role is 24 hours per week with two shifts, 9am to 8pm, and the position emphasises empathy, reliability, and a positive attitude toward helping Maureen live her best life.

We are looking for caring, reliable and motivated Personal Assistants to join our dedicated team in Cumnock.

As a Personal Assistant, you will provide person-centred support, helping the people we support to live independently, achieve their personal goals and take part in the activities that matter most to them.

Support may include:

• Personal care and maintaining personal wellbeing
• Medication support where required
• Moving and handling support
• Supporting daily living tasks and household activities
• Accompanying individuals to appointments and social activities
• Promoting choice, independence and inclusion within the community
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to achieve personal outcomes

Maureen enjoys getting out and about in her local community, going for walks with her pet dog, visiting the shops and attending local clubs. At home, she enjoys watching movies, and spending time with friends. Maureen receives support seven days a week, typically between 9am and 8pm, to help her maintain her independence and continue enjoying the activities that are important to her.

As Maureen's Personal Assistant, you'll support her to stay connected to her community, achieve her personal goals and live the life she chooses.
