Job summary

Purple DPSS is seeking a Personal Assistant/Support Worker in Histon to support Sahana as she begins a nursing degree at Anglia Ruskin University. The role focuses on prompting, planning, and helping with daily routines, travel, meals, and independent living, with hours starting at 10–14 per week and rising during clinical placements.

Qualifications

• DBS check confirmed before start.
• Right to Work and references required.
• Experience in personal care and support for young adults (autism, learning difficulties) preferred.
• Able to work weekday evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompting, planning and organisation to help Sahana stay on track with coursework and daily routines.
• Assist with travel to university and clinical placements, including early starts and late finishes.
• Assist with meals planning, shopping, cooking, and reminders to eat and drink regularly.
• Support everyday living tasks: laundry, keeping space tidy, and money management.
• Encourage social activities and build confidence in new situations while respecting independence.
