Job summary

A local family is seeking a personal assistant to support their lively 12-year-old son with Autism in Bude. The role involves providing 1:1 support for communication and encouraging outdoor activities. Flexible hours are available, mainly during weekends and school holidays. Job description

A personal assistant is required to support a happy and lively 12-year-old boy living in Bude.

He has Autism and would like someone who can build up a positive relationship with him and provide 1:1 support.

He would like someone to support him with his communication. He loves being outdoors, going for walks, and visiting the park to play. He enjoys physical activities like soft play, and also likes cars and drawing.

A personal assistant will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community.

Up to 5 hours per week are available, and this is flexible. Mainly weekend and school holiday availability will be required, with occasional after school support.

The rate of pay is £12.60 per hour.

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential. A full driving licence is desirable.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and will not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
