Hi, my name is Daisy, I am 23 yrs old, I live with my dad and brother. I have communication issues due to the right hemisphere of my brain being removed, the use of right side is affected, I have refractory focal epilepsy and tunnel vision and I sometimes require the use of a wheelchair. I have an EHCP and attend college 3 days a week, when I am at college, I feel isolated and spend a lot of time on my own and do not feel comfortable participating in activities, I also volunteer at the food bank while at college. Although I attend college I would like to access the community more so require assistance to do this. I am interested in Art & Music, Cinema, puzzles, pottery, cooking and baking.

What are the duties?
  • Support to source and access the community for fun activities, including attending any groups or workshops that I may be beneficial to me.
  • Support making/meeting new friends.
  • Support to motivate me when I am feeling low.
Requirements
  • An understanding and previous experience with working with people with brain injuries/learning disability but any relevant experience will be considered if the skills can be applied to this role.
  • Flexibility towards planned activities.
  • Full driving licence with own car but not essential.
  • A Full DBS check will be required.
  • Kind, patient, respectful and emotionally intelligent.
  • Flexible and consistent in availability.
