A local family in Camelford seeks a personal assistant to support a 14-year-old with Autism. The role involves helping them develop social and life skills through community activities. You will work flexible hours, up to 5 hours per week, at a rate of £12.60 per hour. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of working with young people and a driving licence is preferable. A personal assistant is required to support an enthusiastic young person, 14 years old, living in the Camelford area. They have level 2 Autism and would like someone who they can build up a positive relationship with and provide them with some 1:1 support.
Model and support them with learning social and life skills when out in the community. They love swimming and other water activities, are creative and enjoy Lego, and have a wide variety of interests. A personal assistant will enable them to enjoy activities in their local community.
Up to 5 hours per week are available, and this is flexible. Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required. The rate of pay is £12.60 per hour.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
