Job description

Personal assistant required for an autistic boy with ADHD, aged 14, who lives in Chacewater.

He is seeking someone with whom he can build a positive relationship and who can provide him with 1:1 support.

Support is required in the family home on Mondays for five hours between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm, which will allow their solo care giver to have a short break.

He is lively and fun and has a wicked sense of humour. He is an avid gamer (loves roblox) and also enjoys outdoor activities such as mountain biking, parkour, and basketball.

Additional hours on ad hoc basis, both within the home and out and about, may be available. Work may also be available with his 16 year old brother, also autistic with ADHD.

The rate of pay starts at £13 per hour and may increase for the right candidate, depending on their experience.

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All offers of employment are subject to the successful candidate undergoing an enhanced DBS check, which will be facilitated by Cornwall Council.
