Overview

A Personal Assistant is required to support a thirteen-year-old autistic boy with ADHD and attachment difficulties, living in Perranporth. The role involves providing 1:1 support to help him engage in local community activities and develop his independence after school and at weekends.

He thrives in outdoor environments and enjoys skateboarding, scootering, biking, and surfing. He also loves Lego and gaming.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to help the young person engage in local community activities.
  • Support after-school, weekend, and school holiday activities to promote independence and confidence.
Details
  • Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour, with potential for a higher rate depending on experience and relevant skills.
  • Hours: 9 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability.
  • Availability after school, on weekends, and during school holidays is required.
  • A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.
  • The family has two large dogs (a German Shepherd and a Dutch Shepherd); the PA must be comfortable with dogs.
  • The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, not by Cornwall Council.
