Job description

A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a calm, friendly, happy and lively 9‑year‑old girl living in the Par area. She has global learning delay and would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with 1:1 support.

She would like someone to support her with her communication and life/social skills out in the community.

She loves being outside at parks. Her interests include swimming, drawing, craft activities, wet and messy play and role‑play with dolls.

Your support will enable her to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, gaining more independence away from her parents.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.

The role is part‑time with 3 hours per week available, although this is flexible.

Support will also be required at weekends and during school holidays.

The hourly rate is £12.60 plus mileage expenses.

A driving licence and access to your own vehicle, having business use insurance, is also preferable.

Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
