Overview

Personal Assistant required for two happy and easy-going sisters who live in the Looe area: 12 years old and 8 years old. The older sister is autistic while the younger is awaiting an ADHD diagnosis. They would both benefit from building up a positive relationship with a PA who can provide them with some 1:1 support, independently of one another. They would like someone to support them with their communication and social skills out in the community. They enjoy being outdoors and interests include arts & crafts and jewellery making. A personal assistant will enable them to enjoy activities in their local community while they gain independence away from their family members.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
  • Driver preferred with business class insurance.
  • Background checks: successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check administered by Cornwall Council.
Working Arrangements

Good rate of pay at £12.60 per hour. A total of 9 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. These hours will mostly be required during the school holidays with occasional weekend support.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check; the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
