Job Title: Personal Assistant Carer (PA) – Complex Needs Support (Runcorn / Alder Hey Hospital)

Location: Initially based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool. Ongoing support will transition to the family home in Runcorn and will be based at the hospital for any further admissions.

Hourly Rate: £13.21 per hour

Hours Available: 1 post: 36 hours per week. Initial hours may be less than 36 until client returns home. Please note flexibility with hours is required for this role.

Start Date: Immediate start preferred

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Personal Assistant Carer to join a team of PA’s who support a 13-year-old girl with complex health needs. The role will begin at Alder Hey Hospital and continue at her home in Runcorn once she is discharged.

The role will involve continuing to provide care and support during any hospital admissions and also to provide support to appointments. This is a 2:1 care role, requiring close collaboration with another carer to ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.

The successful candidate must be confident and comfortable working with complex health needs in a high-dependency care environment. This includes supporting clinical procedures such as jejunostomy feeding, suctioning, seizure management and manual handling using specialist equipment. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is essential; the Personal Assistant must be willing to work both day and night shifts and be available to adapt to short-notice changes in the rota to ensure continuous, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with moving and handling using a ceiling track hoist
  • Work both day and night shifts, with flexibility for short-notice changes
