Job summary

A community support service in Loughborough is seeking a compassionate individual to assist a client in accessing various community settings. Responsibilities include providing support in public spaces, assisting with mobility when required, and offering reassurance. Qualifications

• Must have a clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively with the client.
• Experience or ability in manual handling of clients with mobility needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the client in accessing the community, such as parks or shops.
• Provide assistance with toilet transfer when necessary.
• Offer reassurance and companionship during outings.

Preferred days / times

Support required in the morning, time and day to be arranged

Tasks / duties

• Support needed for the client to access the community e.g. go to parks/green spaces, go for a coffee and/ or go shopping
• PA will need to have access to a vehicle and a clean, full, UK driving licence
• Some toilet assistance is required when out in the community
• Reassurance may be required to be given at times when out and about

Client main diagnosis

• Asthma
• Paranoid schizophrenia
• Cerebral palsy
• Mild Learning Disability
• Peanut allergy – Epipen in place

Manual Handling

May need support to transfer on and off the toilet from mobility scooter or wheelchair when in the community depending on equipment in place in public toilets. In terms of using a car, the client can lower themself into smaller cars and uses the grab handle above the window for support

The client can be difficult to understand however as a person gets to know them it gets easier. They become frustrated when not understood

Client enjoys

The client enjoys going shopping, going to green spaces e.g. parks. They find being in crowded areas stressful.
