Job summary

Enable Scotland is seeking Personal Assistants (Support Workers) to help people with learning disabilities live their best life in Scotland. The role involves varied shifts (8.30-2.30, 12-6, 9.30-3.30 with overnight support) and a caring, person-centred approach to daily living.

You will support individuals with personal care, daily tasks, and community activities, adapting to each person’s goals and preferences while ensuring safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care as required.
• Support with moving and handling tasks when needed.
• Provide Positive Behaviour Support.
• Assist individuals to widen social networks and community involvement.

B loves company, sitting chatting and getting to know staff, watching old comedy shows/Disney films/Music and shopping! She will spend her support times going shopping with staff and loves a wander round and a bargain from the charity shop. B loves cooking with staff and enjoys trying new recipes then enjoying the meal with staff. B loves nothing more than watching Only Fools & Horses having a good laugh with staff reminiscing about the past. B takes pride in her flat and staff support her with daily household tasks. B needs support to manage her finances, medications and attend appointments and enjoys popping for a coffee when out. Her family are important to her and she will talk you through all the photos she has on her walls when you visit her flat. B wishes the staff to encourage and support her to be as independent as she can be.
