Job description

Overview

Personal Assistant to a 10-year-old autistic, non-verbal son. The role provides predominantly social assistance to him to help him participate in activities and interact with other children outside the home environment.

Responsibilities

• Enable him to be independent and participate in meeting other children outside of his home environment.
• Help him achieve his potential, build friendships and take part in activities to increase social interaction opportunities.
• Provide support to stay safe and assist with some personal care as needed.
• Maintain a balance of firm but fun guidance; be attentive, engaging and positive to make a difference.

Requirements/Details

• Role is based in Twechar; reliable travel to and from the area is important.
• Part-time role of 5-6 hours per week, with flexibility around scheduling; ideally some afternoon slots and alternate Saturdays 10am-4pm.
• Rate of pay: £17.00.
• PVG Scheme membership required by the successful applicant.
