I am a female adult living in my own family home, in Mansfield. I was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 2014. This has left me requiring support with all daily living tasks. I need support with personal care and all transfers. I spend most of the day in my recliner chair or my wheelchair. I like to have an afternoon nap, to rest and regain my strength, for the remainder of the day. I like to have a purpose each day and need my personal assistants to be supportive and understanding of my needs. My diagnosis can make me low in mood at times, so I need someone who can support me with my emotional well-being. I used to be a professional dancer, so finding someone with common interests would be ideal. I enjoy listening to music, taking part in quizzes, keeping my brain active with brain teasers and word puzzles, watching YouTube and having a good laugh. I want someone who enjoys going to places as I will want to visit different places to go shopping and visit local coffee shops. Having a driving license is essential as I do have a mobility car to get out and about in.
I am looking to recruit a team of Personal Assistants who can support me with day-to-day living, some daily household chores including cooking, washing, hoovering, sweeping the kitchen floor, cleaning the bathroom and at times some ironing. Be able to support me with my emotional well-being, personal care and accessing the community. And maybe finding new interests or hobbies.
The ideal candidate will live locally to me, be flexible, patient, have a calm presence and a genuine caring nature. You will need to be enthusiastic and inspiring to bring a sense of energy into my life. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, promoting my independence and respecting my family and my home.
Candidates must be female and have previous experience of supporting clients with mobility requirements, and having knowledge and understanding of MS would be beneficial. However full training will be given to the successful candidate.
During the day I have set times where a second PA will be available to support with transfers due to me requiring a hoist.
A rota will be planned and agreed in advance. Anyone looking to apply needs to consider that my hours of support may change from time to time so you will need to be flexible to be able to accommodate this, and to cover annual leave or sickness on a pro rota basis.
The hourly rate of pay is £12.21 and all training is paid for including the hours to complete the necessary training. An in-depth training package will be delivered to my team to support you to understand how to care for me and to meet my needs.
In return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
