Job summary

Lancashire Independent Living Service is seeking a warm, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to support a friendly young man in the Burscough/Ormskirk area. The role focuses on companionship, independence, communication and social engagement at home and in the community.

The successful candidate will help build independence, participate in leisure activities, and support social interactions, with full training provided for any medication administration.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care or companionship roles is preferred.
• Willingness to assist with medication when required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of independence and everyday life skills.
• Assist with cooking and meal preparation.
• Encourage confidence at home and in the community.
• Support social interaction and communication skills.
• Help build and maintain connections within the local community.
• Accompany and participate in leisure and social activities.
• Provide encouragement and companionship.

He is a gentle, polite, and calm young man who is a pleasure to be around. The role is primarily focused on providing companionship and support to help him develop his independence, confidence, communication skills, and social connections both at home and within the local community. Duties May Include:

• Supporting the development of independence and everyday life skills

• Supporting social interaction and communication skills

Interests The young man enjoys a wide range of activities and interests, including: Sports, Ten-pin bowling, Music, Motorbikes, Animals, Trips to the cinema The successful applicant will be willing to actively engage in and support these interests
