Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Personal Advisor in Solihull to support young people transitioning to adulthood. Responsibilities include developing Pathway Plans, assisting with accommodation, and fostering independent living skills. The ideal candidate will have strong advocacy skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders. This is a full-time temporary position for 6 months paying £16.90-19.32 per hour.

Personal Advisor - Solihull

Full-Time, Temporary

37 hours per week

6 months contract

£16.90-19.32 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review Pathway Plans in collaboration with the young person, social worker, and other agencies to ensure goals related to health, education, employment, and housing are met.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key agencies, family, and carers to ensure a co‑ordinated and effective support system for young people.
  • Assist young people in securing and sustaining accommodation by working with housing officers and benefit agencies to assess needs and entitlements.
  • Support young people in developing the practical skills needed for independent living, such as financial management, household tasks, and accessing resources.
  • Act as an advocate for the young person, helping them express their needs, challenge decisions, and make their own choices about their future.
  • Provide regular updates and summaries on the progress of allocated young people to ensure the effective delivery of support and timely review of Pathway Plans.

Oversee the transition to adulthood by taking over support from a social worker, often just before the young person's 18th birthday, to provide consistent support.
