We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor on a 2 - month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 12.74- 16.46 per hour

Summary

Thurrock Council is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Personal Advisor to join the Aftercare Team providing high-quality support and guidance to care leavers. The role focuses on helping young people transition into independent living ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes. Working within the Signs of Safety model and adopting both a Think Family and contextual safeguarding approach the Personal Advisor will support young people in building resilience, accessing opportunities and reaching their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and support for care leavers acting as a consistent and reliable source of guidance.
  • Monitor progress record outcomes and use performance data to inform effective decision‑making and service improvement.
  • Support care leavers with financial management, housing transitions and community integration.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities in line with Thurrock Council's policies and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with regulatory standards and council policies.
Essentials
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care Youth Work or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Proven experience working with young people ideally in a leaving care social work or youth work setting.
Important
  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K.
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
  • Enforce the DBS requirement: your DBS must be either through us or be accompanied by a subscription to the DBS updating service.
