Job summary

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a Personal Advisor for the Leaving Care Service. You will support care-experienced young people aged 16 to 25 as they transition to adulthood, providing guidance, advocacy and practical support at every stage of their journey.

You will develop Pathway Plans, coordinate housing, education, employment and health services, and work with partner agencies to ensure positive life outcomes for young people.

Personal Advisor - Leaving Care Service Every young person deserves someone in their corner. As a Personal Advisor, you will support young people aged 16 to 25 as they navigate the transition from care into adulthood, providing guidance, advocacy and practical support at every stage of their journey. You will develop trusted relationships with young people, working alongside them to create and review Pathway Plans that reflect their ambitions, goals and aspirations. Supporting a varied caseload, you will help young people access suitable accommodation, education, employment, training opportunities, financial support and health services, while promoting independence and resilience. Working collaboratively with partner agencies, housing providers, educational establishments and health professionals, you will ensure young people, As a Personal Advisor, you will support care-experienced young people aged 16 to 25 as they move towards independent adulthood. Through practical guidance, advocacy and relationship-based support, you will help young people achieve their goals in areas such as housing, education, employment, health, finances and independent living while promoting confidence, resilience and positive life outcomes., Our Personal Advisors play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16 to 25 as they navigate some of life's biggest milestones. About the Role

About the Role This is far more than a support role.It's about being a guide, advocate, coach and trusted adult during one of the most important transitions in a young person's life. As a Personal Advisor, you will build meaningful relationships with care-experienced young people and help them navigate their journey towards independence.You'll work alongside them to create and review Pathway Plans, ensuring their voices, ambitions and aspirations remain at the heart of every decision.You'll celebrate their successes, help them overcome barriers and empower them to make confident choices about their future. One day you might be helping a young person secure accommodation, supporting them into higher education or employment, or ensuring they can access the financial support they're entitled to. The next, you could be advocating on their behalf with housing providers, health services or partner agencies, helping them access opportunities that could transform their lives. You'll manage your own caseload, coordinate vital services, and work collaboratively with colleagues and partners across Oxfordshire to ensure young people receive the support they need. You'll also support young people from a range of backgrounds, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young adults, helping them navigate often complex systems and build positive futures.
