Job summary

West Lothian Council is seeking a Street Cleaning operative to provide frontline cleaning across West Lothian.

You will carry out street cleansing of public areas including parks, verges, roads and car parks using appropriate tools, including a mechanical sweeper. A driving licence is essential and you must be able to work in all weather conditions. The role includes weekend shifts on a rotating pattern.

Qualifications

• Driving licence is essential.
• Ability to operate pedestrian powered equipment and work in all weathers.
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day shift pattern including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver frontline street cleaning across West Lothian.
• Clean parks, open spaces, verges, roads, pavements, car parks and shopping precincts using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Operate pedestrian powered equipment and mechanical sweeper as required.
• Adhere to statutory duties and working patterns including weekends.
