Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Performance and Reporting Lead in the South West region to drive data‑driven decision making across major projects. Based in Bristol, Cardiff or the wider South West, you will lead a team, set reporting standards, and partner with delivery and transformation colleagues to improve governance and benefits realization.

You will apply advanced analytics, develop performance strategies, and coach staff while collaborating with NEC contract aware stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in performance and reporting on complex programmes.
• Experience interfacing with other project controls disciplines.

Job Description

Within the South West region, our Infrastructure team has established strong positions across the Transport and Utilities sectors. With significant growth in recent years, we are continuing to expand our presence and are looking to connect with experienced project professionals, particularly those based in Bristol, Cardiff and the wider South West area with wider understanding of our UK based opporuntities.

Job Objectives

Managing and delegating activities of the Performance and Reporting team on complex projects or programmes

• Briefing the team on the project scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood;

• Developing and maintaining leadership relationships with interfacing disciplines;

• Line management activities including career development and performance management;

• Continuous improvement in Performance and Reporting (and interfacing project controls) processes to create efficiency and increasing benefits to our clients;

• The implementation, embedding and roll‑out of any identified changes to Performance and Reporting processes;

• Ability to analyse data produced and established informative data driven reporting with quality narrative to provide insights not just data for decision makers.

• Subject Matter Expertise;

• Expert analysis to relevant stakeholders and senior management, supporting effective decision making;

• Training and coaching to clients and less experienced team members on Performance and Reporting processes and practices;

• T&T’s recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability;

Required Experience

• We want a Performance and Reporting lead that has extensive experience developing performance management strategies, building high‑performing teams, and enhancing project controls capabilities. Skilled in leveraging technology, automation, and advanced analytics to improve decision‑making, drive efficiency, and deliver strategic outcomes. Recognised for anticipating challenges, influencing stakeholders, and leading continuous improvement across complex programmes and organisations.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for individuals who can successfully demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Performance and Reporting on complex projects/programmes is essential.

• Experience of interfacing with other Project Controls disciplines is essential.

• Experience in leading Performance and Reporting teams is essential.

• Demonstrable track record in identifying reporting and data requirements and documenting these using the appropriate types of tools and documentation is essential.

• An understanding of data, data architecture, and data models is essential.

• The ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.

• Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.

• It is essential that you have experience in a performance and reporting delivery role’s on major projects/programmes. Project experience within energy, ports, renewables, defence, rail and utilities will be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in a relevant discipline with some experience in a project control environment;

• Attainment or working towards qualifications in data analytics or systems and data tools desirable

• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Predict, ARM or Power Bi would be advantageous.

• Full UK Driving License.

Candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and be genuinely committed to developing new and more effective ways of working.
