Performance Manager – Performance Manager (IED)
We are looking for a Performance Manager to join Thames Water permanently. This is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference in one of our most critical roles within Waste Treatment as a front-line performance manager.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and support your team in accordance with company policies, ensuring competence through coaching and training.
- Identify, mitigate, resolve and escalate risk across the site and team.
- Deliver a consistent approach to asset operation and maintenance to achieve a cost‑efficient, robust and safe 24/7 operation.
- Understand and articulate budget changes in regular performance review sessions, ensuring effective management of H&S, compliance, people and performance.
- Deliver a safe service to the customer base by driving a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the team.
- Implement Health and Safety across the site and team.
- Oversee Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) permit compliance and liaise with internal departments to optimise and achieve all permit conditions.
- Lead and improve stakeholder engagement with internal departments and external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Local Councils, Fire Department and similar.
Essential Criteria
- Experience managing teams, with process or operational management experience and skills in budget management, Health & Safety, building relationships and engineering / operational maintenance.
- Excellent people and performance management skills to support and drive a mixed skill team.
- Strong health and safety and customer‑based ethics.
- Excellent organisational and risk management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
- Good computer skills desirable.
- A valid driving licence required to travel to different sites.
