Role Overview

As Performance Manager, you will lead a team of Trainers and Learning Delivery professionals to achieve excellence across performance, quality, and learner outcomes.

You will be accountable for driving high performance, maintaining delivery standards, embedding consistent quality control measures, and fostering the professional development of your team.

Your role is central to ensuring that every learning experience delivered across Apprentify meets our high expectations and delivers measurable impact for learners and employers.

Key Responsibilities
1. People Leadership & Performance
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a team of Trainers to deliver consistently high-quality learning experiences.
  • Embed a performance-led culture focused on learner outcomes, engagement, and measurable impact.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development conversations, ensuring all team members are clear on expectations and objectives.
  • Identify performance trends through data analysis and implement targeted interventions to improve delivery quality and learner success.
  • Recognise and celebrate excellence while addressing underperformance swiftly and constructively.
2. Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all learning delivery aligns with Apprentify's quality framework, Ofsted standards, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Monitor session delivery, learner engagement and outcomes through observation, feedback, and data insight.
  • Partner with the Quality and Curriculum teams to identify improvement opportunities and drive consistency across programmes.
  • Lead learning walks and peer observations, embedding a coaching-led approach to feedback.
  • Use learner feedback, performance data, and delivery analytics to inform quality improvement actions.
3. Staff Development & CPD
  • Develop and implement CPD plans to upskill Trainers and enhance delivery impact.
  • Facilitate sharing of best practice and innovation across teams.
  • Create structured pathways for professional growth, ensuring alignment with Apprentify's capability and performance frameworks.
  • Encourage reflective practice and the use of technology to improve learning experiences.
4. Operational Delivery Excellence
  • Collaborate with the Head of Delivery to ensure optimal resource allocation and delivery capacity planning.
  • Coordinate and plan cohort scheduling and trainer utilisation to maximise efficiency.
  • Provide accurate and timely performance and progress reporting.
  • Champion the integration of EdTech and data tools to enhance visibility, accountability, and learner experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams within learning, education, training, or people development environments.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
  • A clear understanding of what good looks like in teaching, training, or facilitation.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
  • Highly organised, data-driven, and able to translate insight into action.
  • A passion for learning, personal development, and helping others perform at their best.
Desirable
  • Experience working in a quality-driven, regulated or target-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with learning delivery models, digital learning platforms, or hybrid delivery structures.
