The Performance Content Lead is the bridge between performance and creative; owning the full loop from insight → ideation → execution → scale. You’ll mine audience, platform, and user data to uncover the emotional and behavioural triggers that drive conversion of quality customers, then turn those into world‑class creative briefs.
You’ll lead the end‑to‑end performance content engine across paid social and influencer creative. If you’re as energised by a Looker dashboard as you are by a creative sprint, this is your role.
This role is highly entrepreneurial and fast‑moving; ideal for someone ready to take the next step up from Senior Creative Strategist.
Own the paid creative strategy: Define what we make → translate audience and performance insights into actionable creative direction.
Obsess over the customer: Develop a deep understanding of buyer psychology, triggers, and drivers across our ICPs. Translate those insights into high‑impact creative briefs and messaging frameworks.
Drive measurable growth: Deliver content that reduces CPA, improves CTR, and increases conversion rates across key channels.
Lead the creative test–learn–scale cycle: Run ongoing creative sprints, and post‑campaign analyses to continuously optimise performance output.
Partner with Engine: Work closely with the performance marketing team to ensure creative outputs are aligned to their media buying priorities, creative execution frameworks, and spend optimisation.
Innovate through new formats: Identify and experiment with emerging content types, influencer collaborations, and paid social trends that can unlock step‑change results.
Own influencer content: Led agencies to source, brief, and scale creator‑led campaigns that drive efficient acquisition.
Integrate data and storytelling: Balance quantitative insight with creative intuition—ensuring all campaigns are grounded in insight but executed with impact.
Champion a growth mindset: Build a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the creative and marketing teams.
You think in experiments, not campaigns

A media buying role (Engine owns the media accounts and channel acquisition strategy)
A brand-only creative role (everything here is tied to measurable performance)
A passive optimisation role (you will own content strategies)
A junior executor role (you will lead — not wait for briefs)
5–7 years’ experience in performance or content marketing, ideally from a high‑growth consumer tech or D2C environment
Proven exp managing complex content strategy, including £800k-1M+/ week in ad spend & localisation strategies across multiple geos and deep understanding of the creative nuances across paid social platforms (Meta, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
Strong analytical mindset; able to interpret data, identify creative insights, and translate them into actionable next steps. Strong skills in utilising data tools like Looker.
Demonstrable success in translating analysis and insights to brief creative teams to bring ideas to life and drive acquisition of high quality customers.
Entrepreneurial and highly driven — thrives in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with high ownership.
Hands‑on with creative analysis tools and comfortable using AI to enhance ideation, testing, and optimisation.
Ready to step up from Creative Strategist into full ownership of the performance content function.
